LeftMN Radio Hour 3-24-13

Sunday Mar 24, 2013

Sunday Mar 24, 2013

On this episode of the LeftMN Radio Hour, the last episode of the LeftMN Radio Hour, we talk with the creator of the Stealing Home podcast David Temple. If you couldn't tell by the title, Stealing Home is a baseball themed podcast, and baseball is mostly what we talk about on the show this week.
Before that we do one last Weekly Wrap primarily concerning Michele Bachmann, but also concerning the Minnesota Republican party's lack of any viable candidates to run against Mark Dayton in 2014.
While I may actually cut together a sort of best of show, this will be the very last show with hot new political content. Don't fret though, while the LeftMN Radio Hour is going away, there will likely be something new that rises, phoenix-like, from the ashes of the LeftMN Radio Hour. But for now, I need a break.
Selah.

We than get into why single payer is still needed, despite Obamacare.
Before that, and as always, Aaron and myself discuss some of the news of the week. That news includes developments in the push for Marriage equality; featuring the actual introduction of a piece of legislation, NOM's feeble attempts to scare people from voting for it and the always classy Senator Dan Hall trying to make this a civil rights issue for the haters. Also, the budget.

But that is an abbreviated list, there are many more things we get into.
Before that Aaron and myself talk about the big news of the week, the announcement by Republican Senator Branden Petersen that he will be supporting marriage equality. And we talk about the small news of the week, and there was certainly some small news this week!

LeftMN Radio Hour 2-17-12

Sunday Feb 17, 2013

Sunday Feb 17, 2013

Our guest this week on the LeftMN Radio Hour is proprietor of the Four Firkins (which, in the author's opinion, is the very best adult beverage emporium in this fine state), Jason Alvey. Jason talks about the genesis of the Four Firkins, the burgenoing Twin Cities beer scene and the difficulties of changing outdated beer laws.
Last legislative session he was able to get the law changed to allow him to sell t-shirts in his store, which, contrary to all common-sense, had been against the law. This session he is trying to get an even bigger boulder up the hill, he's trying to change the law so he can sell beer on Sunday's.
Prior to that Aaron and myself talk about the results of the Bonus elections, some recent developments concerning Marriage equality, and make fun of the ridiculous article that David Strom wrote for MinnPost.
